We are asking for your help as we join several other organizations on a huge rescue case. Many of you have likely heard about the huge rescue operation that is currently happening in Yelm, WA. In addition to the 550+ roosters that were being bred and trained for cockfighting, there were 15 horses and 18 goats in horrific condition. We have stepped in to help with the goats and will be receiving 9 does at the end of the week, after their condition has been documented by a veterinarian for the legal case. The does all are pregnant or have babies at their sides, which means the number of goats coming to us is likely to grow within a few weeks. We know that these goats have been starved, and have not received even the most basic care. They are suffering from hoof rot, walking on painfully overgrown hooves, and are likely loaded with worms and lice. Your contributions will be critical in supporting these goats in the weeks and months ahead.

Why are we asking for donations? Rehabilitating goats that have been neglected to this degree is a long, slow, expensive process. We will have to feed them on a very strict re-feeding diet so that their digestive systems are not overwhelmed. We will have to trim and treat their hooves, vaccinate, deworm and delouse them all, at a minimum. Other treatment will depend on what we find when they arrive, and what our vet recommends. No matter what, this is going to be an expensive undertaking. Please contribute what you can, and share this with your animal loving friends. Together, we can right this wrong and provide these innocent goats with the safe, loving homes they deserve.
